Notes The material included in this encyclopedia on horoscopes/astrology is probably a compilation of many sources by the calligrapher himself, Muhammad al-Iskdari. On the first page there is a religious title, a text of the Ghoranama, and instructions for determining which day of the week the first day of the month is in each year. Some of the pages (with yellow flowers in the margin) consist of omens related to natural phenomena such as earthquakes and thunder. On other pages there are tables to determine matters such as the appearance of the moon according to the months and days of the week (shapes of cyclamen in crimson in the margin). On other pages there are illustrations of angels belonging to the seven heavens.
