Notes	This easel is typical of Mamluk pro-religious works, created during a period known for encouraging a national revaluation of local heritage. It resembles a famous Qur’an holder belonging to the Mamluk era located in the Museum of Arab Art in Cairo, inscribed with the name of the Mamluk Sultan al-Nasir Muhammad ibn Qalawun (ruled between 1294 and 1340), made by Muhammad ibn Sanqar al-Baghdadi.
