Notes A piece of gray marble in the shape of a parallelepiped, carved, containing a lion sitting on its hind legs, attached to the lower section of part of an arch. The animal's head is much larger than its body, and its eyes are spherical and protruding. As for its mouth, it is open, leaving the closely packed teeth visible, which adds ferocity to the face. The left side of the animal is more densely decorated than the right side. There is hair hanging in the form of rings from the left side, on which a tail rests. The front legs are missing. The right side was also stripped of any decoration, indicating that this side was integrated into the structure, while the left side was highlighted. The general appearance of this element suggests that it is part of a multi-lobed arch belonging to the door of a Hammad palace.
