Notes A woven piece of linen and silk with a pattern. The piece features four alternating horizontal panels of silk on areas of woven linen and vertical blue pens. The upper one bears a wide band embroidered with gold, the main lines of which are red. The spaces between the tasseling are filled with gold-colored patterns at the top and bottom, and abstract floral patterns in gold and green in the center. The whole is surrounded at the top and bottom by borders in the form of split palm fronds coiled and golden on a red background. Beneath this painting is a strip of cursive Arabic writing in blue on a red background, and it is also surrounded by a border in the form of split, twisted palm fronds. The pen at the bottom, with borders identical to those mentioned above, shows elegant writing in gilded Kufic script with red details on a deep blue background. The last painting consists of two pens, one on top of the other, containing split, twisted palm fronds, golden in colour, with main lines in red.
