Notes
The bowls, with thin walls and a decoration of blue strips on a white ground, were completely new from a formal and artistic standpoint. It was the first time that the contrast between blue and white was used as an expressive means of style. Also, the technique of glazing was much advanced before glazing, and it remained simple and revealing its full brightness.
