Notes
A silver coin, Umayyad, minted during the rule of Al-Walid bin Abdul-Malik. On the first side and in the middle we find the phrase, “There is no god but God alone, with no partner.” And around it: “In the name of God.” This dirham was minted in Szekistan in the year ninety-one. And on the second side, there are two phrases: one in the middle is: “Say: He is God, the One.” And there was no one equal to Him. ((Sincerity) and the other around it:) It is He who has sent His Messenger with guidance and the religion of truth to make it prevail over all religions, even if He hates it. The polytheists (Al-Tawbah 33: As-Saff: 9).
