Notes
The piece is a richly jeweled Moroccan wedding crown/wreath decorated with emeralds and precious stones and shows a pyramid-shaped face and an open back. Moroccan gold jewelry is often given as gifts associated with women of the ruling class and may have been used on wedding occasions and was worn by both Muslim and Jewish brides. This wreath is inscribed with “Glory belongs to God and to His Messenger.”
