Notes Twenty-four students of both sexes sit around a bearded professor who is leaning on his cane. Everyone is looking the same way except for the boy in the upper left corner who is looking at a girl. The scene is most likely considered to be the first meeting between Layla and Majnun in school and is taken from Nizami's famous book Layla and Majnun written in the 1180s.
