Notes
This page was previously part of a two-volume Qur’an during the period of the Nasserite state in the late thirteenth century or the beginning of the fourteenth century. Although paper arrived in the Middle East in the 10th century, it did not become widespread in Islamic Spain and North Africa until much later. Despite the conservative use of parchment, the page shows several features that distinguish it from earlier Qur'anic manuscripts. The surah titles are written in gold in Kukovo script, which is found in contrast to the Moroccan script used to write the text, and the gold medallions serve as verse markers.
