Notes
This exquisite piece of jewelry was created in Jaipur, Rajasthan, a center famous for the production of enamelled works during the Mughal era. Its design - which takes the form of two peacocks encircling their wings with a floral design in the middle - has become famous in many cultures in the East and West. In the Islamic world, it was common to highlight ideas related to heaven and eternal life.
