Notes
This molded hollow incense burner is shaped like a bird and is hinged and consists of two parts, allowing the piece to open completely to insert incense into it. The entire surface is engraved and perforated decoration can be found on the chest, wings, back and tail. The eyes are highlighted by two decorative buttons, and engraved feathers cover the neck. There is an angular pattern that takes the form of a chain around the neck and reaches the center of the chest. There is a perforated, braided pattern placed between them. The wings contain a medallion with a high center, spiral reclining hooks, arches, and the heads of the wings are ribbed and framed by an interlaced band, which expands below. The area between the joint and the tip of the tail contains a decorative band with interwoven patterns, the legs are covered with engraved feathers, and the claws are shaped in detail. The detailed body is different from most other bird-shaped incense burners, which either have a square drawer or an opening for placing incense.
