Notes This tile panel depicts a hunting scene. It was produced during the Safavid era in Isfahan and the slab was made using the “dry rope” technique, in which the designs were drawn using an oily substance mixed with manganese, which left a dark outline after firing. This prevents the colored pigments from mixing with each other. During the era of the Timurid and Safavid dynasties, this technique was widely used and was later introduced to Türkiye. This tile panel most likely decorated a hunting palace.
