Notes
The piece has a decorative geometric openwork shape. It (along with another piece of the same size and shape preserved in Ghazni) was found in the northwestern corner of the central square near the entrance to the prayer room. The shape of the block (screen) and the position of the writing, with the four sides/ribs of one face and one side, means that it was located on a corridor through one of the most important rooms of the palace and perhaps the prayer room. The writing is mostly obscured and written in a smooth hand with cursive letters, which tells us about the time when the works were completed in the palace area and the name of the person who carried them out.
