It is possible that the layout was designed by the master calligrapher, Abdullah Zuhdi, who was known as the scribe of the Two Holy Mosques. Egypt used to supply the kiswah for the Kaaba every year, almost without interruption, but since the beginning of the 1970s, the kiswah has been woven in a special workshop in Mecca.
