Notes The text on this page consists of Surat Al-Najm (No. 53), verse 59, to Surat Al-Qamar (No. 54), verse 5. The page has a horizontal layout and has four lines. The calligraphy and gilding are of high quality. At the end of Surah An-Najm, the prostration is indicated by a specific sect. The title of the surah and the number of verses of the following surah are written in gold in a gilded band that ends with an end sign in a specific shape. Gold rosettes separate individual verses, while every ten verses are marked in the margin with a large ring. The distinct movements and red dots indicate the exits of the letters. The black dots were added later. The use of the horizontal paper format usually associated with the Qur’an written on parchment is unusual.
