Notes The gold industry has been known in various ways in Syria since the second millennium BC. If we look at this bracelet, it suggests a lot of weight, but in reality it is gold leaf pressed into a mold and wrapped on an invisible inner wire. The texture of the decoration of this bracelet is a biblical field within a center of modified floral decorations, and the text can be read as follows: “Universal grace, complete blessing, and everlasting greatness.” As for the interior, we find the decorations consisting of overlapping arches resembling fish scales. The lock is a circular disc that was originally set with five precious stones, all of which have been lost, in addition to woven, perforated gold grains. There is a bracelet similar to this bracelet in the Freer Museum in Washington. The only difference between the two bracelets is that the vocabulary in the written field includes wishing the owner of the bracelet good luck. These phrases are usually engraved on the arm bracelets as a set, for the reader to read on each arm. A jewelry set may include phrases on bracelets and anklets as well.
