Notes
A simple, one-piece column carved from a block of gray marble. The unadorned shaft of the column rises above a square base, surmounted by a capital decorated with three rows of acanthus leaves. This element plays a functional and decorative role at the same time. It is possible that it was used to support and carry the building and to decorate the two side sides of the openings (windows) at the same time. The National Museum of Antiquities and Islamic Arts in Algeria maintains another column similar to it.
