Notes Whether from the city or the countryside, Moroccan ceramics reflects the country's refined diversity. The city of Fez in northern Morocco was the most important center for the production of urban ceramics, and most of the pieces produced still retain their function and are for daily use, especially kitchen utensils. Fez in particular is known for its cobalt blue and white glazed ceramic vessels. Pottery was made by wheel and produced exclusively by male specialists.
