Notes
These pages are from a copy of the Shahnameh (Book of Kings) made in the city of Shiraz in northwestern Iran in 1341 AD. The manuscript was produced for Qawam al-Din, a minister of the ruling Injev dynasty. The illustrations are horizontal images and have a narrow shape, dominated by large shapes executed before, and it shows a disturbed hand (an incompetent person). The backgrounds are red, gold, or plain, and the plant elements are composed of larger-than-life-sized, simplified shapes. Now the manuscript is scattered, as pages of it are in many museums and libraries.
