The metallic luster decoration begins at a third of the distance from the base, and is divided into horizontal bands. The lower collar includes discreetly colored braided bands, topped by a wider band with heart-shaped decorations, while the upper collar features five fish, their scales and other details incised in the metallic luster paint to appear white. The neck is decorated with a collar of triangles and dots. The jar's decorations are reminiscent of Coptic art, as fish are a traditional Christian motif, and fish and bird motifs are often used in early Coptic textiles.
