Notes
Enamelled porcelain, or haft-ranki (enameled, "seven-coloured" in Persian), is a type of Iranian figurative pottery, requiring the technical knowledge and financial resources to manage several rounds of firing. This bowl depicts a scene from the Shahnameh: the presentation of the severed head of General Ain Kashab to his opponent, the ruler Bahram Chopina. The head presented the soldier who killed the general.
