Notes This page shows a portion of five-volume poetry known as the Khamsiya written in Persian between 1298 and 1301 by the prominent Indian poet Amir Khusraw of Delhi. This poet is widely known as Khusraw. He also wrote historical epics and romantic texts and worked under the patronage of the Turkish nobility in India in the late thirteenth century before coming under the patronage of the royal court in Delhi. Khusraw's poetry in The Five is interesting in form and is a collection of five poems composed by Persian poet Nizami (d. 1209) This copy was produced near Delhi in the 15th century and at some point in history its contents became known as “Laylat al-Qadr.” It is the only page in the Aga Khan Museum’s collection that originates from this scattered manuscript.
