Notes
This hollow, bird-shaped molded incense burner is inlaid with silver and has perforated details and a hole at the top of the tail. Inlay and perforation work can be seen over the entire surface. The eyes are set high and inlaid, and the crest is placed behind the head and twisted, indicating a spider. The decorative chambers, with spiral hooks of climbing plants surrounding the polygonal neck, have geometric medallions that are perforated at the throat. Below that there is a room with animals running in front of spiraling climbing plants, followed by a drop-shaped medallion with geometric scrolls. This design is repeated in each perforated medallion. The lower chest is highlighted by a cup-like medallion and blooming flowers. The top of the tail is open and forms a slope, and the large pattern frames the inner half of the wings and consists of elongated letters that end in small heads. The perforated medallion is highlighted in the centre, and climbing plants decorate the tops of the wings.
