Notes
This page, along with two others in the collection of the Aga Khan Museum (AKM41 and AKM40), come from a manuscript collected at the court of Shahrukh (died 1447) and dispersed by the art dealer Emilie Tabakh in the 1920s and 1930s. The contents of the manuscript are mainly from a history of the world compiled by Rashid al-Din (died 1318) for the Mongol ruler Ilkhan Oljetu in 1930. 1307. It is not simply a copy of Rashid al-Din's work but a hybrid manuscript with a tangled history made more complex by its dispersal. This page comes from a group of pages prepared under Rashid al-Din's supervision and later included in the Timurid manuscript.
