Notes The decoration of the vessel is limited to the outer part of it, and it consists of a large inscription of an Arabic phrase in the Kufilin script, with the letter Alif drawn upwards, and the other letters ending in a spiral. This writing is sandwiched between two colored lines with metallic luster. Above that phrase are four dark blue letters. As for the phrase, it is “a blessing to its owner.” It is worth noting that the precious works of art produced in Mesopotamia were rarely decorated with phrases written in different scripts only. For this reason, we can say: This model is influenced by the ceramics of the Samaani, Khorazani, and Transoxian eras of the ninth/tenth century, which were widely produced and whose decoration was limited and limited to writing only.
