Notes The shirt is dyed black, has a round neck, and half-long sleeves. The dress has a longitudinal slit on the back, and can only be worn by inserting the hands into the sleeves first. Most likely, this shirt was intended for a child, and its shape resembles similar clothing of the Copts. The sleeves are decorated at shoulder level with decorations that vary slightly from one sleeve to another. The right shoulder strap, with a red background, is decorated with decorative elements and yellow lines, alternating with medallions that include abstract floral decorative elements interspersed with highly stylized animal decorative elements, recognizable as hares. The left shoulder band, which has the most diverse colouring, includes animal decorative elements, especially wild rabbits and blue, green and black dogs. The ground is yellow, and two bands surround a religious inscription written in angular kufi script, embroidered with silk. It is very distorted and difficult to read. It can be read: “Eternal blessing (…) the kingdom belongs to God.”
