Notes
The Damascus Room is composed of 18th century (Ajami) wooden panels, four walls and a ceiling which originally decorated a reception room (known collectively as a hall) of the spacious courtyard of a house in Syria. It is a quintessential example of late Ottoman Syrian architectural embellishment that has been reworked to suit the twentieth century environment and the collector.
