Notes
This elaborately carved wood panel has a central 12-pointed star that extends outward to form a strong, geometric, symmetrical pattern of polygons with raised edges. In the center of the large polygon are carved forms of arabesque scrolls with high contrast, while the smaller polygons are undecorated and form a high surface contrast. It was purchased at auction in 1972.
