Notes
Decorated by cutting the outer layer of glass. The model is characteristic of art at the beginning of the Abbasid era and was first developed for stucco relief works that decorated buildings in the capital, Samarra. The bottle bears uniquely styled birds with twin formations, and abstract floral motifs are forms that often appear in the art of that period.
