Notes
This mihrab is approximately 12 feet long and dates to 663/1265 and is the only piece of its kind in the DDFIA collection. It is one of the six remaining lustrous mihrabs made during the Ilkhanid period in Iran (1265-1353) and is one of two of its kind outside Iran. Originally, it was placed in the shrine of Imamzadeh Yahya, which is the tomb of one of the descendants of the Shiite Imam Veramin in Iran. In the prayer section of the shrine, the mihrab was located on the Qibla wall - which points in the direction of Mecca.
