Notes
This vault-type ceiling with exposed bridges, obtained from what is supposed to be the royal chamber of Alphonse Extending over these bridges, and intersecting with them, is a transom with a length of 504 cm, connected at the ends to two other shorter transoms, all three of which have the same cross-section. This structure therefore generates a covering consisting of ten cavities. The ceiling was covered with beams showing three longitudinal grooves, and wooden panels with alvardon decoration (a simple decoration made up of small triangles of wood at the corners that create hexagons) with two wooden panels on each side. The structure is finished with decorative timber joists and protrusions that hide the joints between the bridges and walls, joists (boards sandwiched between two supports) and bars. The bottoms of the main bridges are also decorated with symmetrical floral patterns, pepper-shaped leaves with a central decoration, and medallions or interlacings of eight-pointed stars on the sides. In the middle of the bridges, forts with a single tower appear. While the edges were painted with banded logos. On the sides, the Alphardoon theme appears decorated with Arabic calligraphy in painted calligraphy that reproduces: “There is no god but God”; In some places, the word "Yemen" appears. The palace of King Alphonse According to the historian Tedomero Ramírez de Arellano, Don Federico and Don Enrique, i.e. the future Henry II of Castile and founder of the House of Trastamar, were conceived here. The piece therefore has some importance from a documentary standpoint.
