Notes
The first leaf is decorated with a unique luster decoration, and consists of a rectangular field, gilded and dotted in black and red, framed by two plaited bands. The axial surface is decorated with a central circle equidistant from two semicircles. The collection is separated by half rhombuses, each of which is filled with a decoration of a simple vine leaf, with five lobes surrounded by a circle from which two halves of leaves appear, while protruding towards the margin is a palm leaf decoration with dense floral decoration. These decorative elements fall within the African (Tunisian) decorative repertoire during the Upper Middle Ages: 3rd - 5th century AH (9th century - 11th century AD). The second leaf contains a Qur’anic text. Taken from Surat Yunus (Sura No. 10, verses 70 and 71). The gilded and shiny Kufic writing is surrounded by maroon color, and red diacritical points are placed on the vowels, and two dots on top of each other for the tanween movement. I also indicate two dots, one green and one red, respectively, for the hamza and shuddah movements, according to the approach developed by the scholar Abu Al-Aswad. I also used short italics for vowel dots. On the other hand, the division between verses is indicated by a decoration in the form of a small, gilded rose surrounded by a blue circle, and the fifth verse is indicated by a rounded gilded ornament with a blue center and a red circumference. The tenth verse is highlighted in the margin with a round ornament covered with gilded corollas, and includes an inner circle decorated with a gilded epigraphic inscription on a red ground.
