An Islamic gold dinar belonging to the Almoravid prince Ali bin Yusuf, who ruled in the period 500-537 / 6-1143. The inscription located within a central field on the face consists of several Qur’anic verses in addition to the name of the ruler: “There is no god but God” (Muhammad 19), “He has no partner” (Al-A’raf 163), “Muhammad is the Messenger of God” (Al-Fath 29). Commander of the Faithful Ali bin Yusuf. The circumference also contains a verse from the Qur’an: “And whoever seeks a religion other than Islam, it will never be accepted from him, and in the Hereafter he will be among the losers” (Al Imran 85). On the back of the coin appears a circular frame containing the basmalah and the place and date of the mint, which is Seville in the year 560. The inscription in the central field refers to the Abbasid Caliph in Baghdad and calls him by the name of Imam Abdullah, the guide who ruled in the period 12-529/ 18-1135.
