Notes Sultan Ali Adil Shah of Bijapur (1558 – 1579) has been depicted several times in contemporary miniatures sporting a similar throat. One side of the handle is made of a lion holding an elephant between its claws, while the figure with a human head, an animal body, and a long-tailed dragon engaged in battle is on the other end. The guard consists of two figures with a human head and an animal body, whose heads rotate towards the steel blade.
