Notes
This tombstone on display has the Shahada inscribed on one side; One of the most important basic conditions of Islam is the pronunciation of the two Shahadas. Thus declaring his conversion to Islam publicly in Arabic, with sincerity of intention, and without any reservation. Pronunciation of the two testimonies is one of the five pillars of Islam, and is the basis for all other Islamic beliefs and transactions. The statement of the Shahada is by saying: “I bear witness that there is no god but God and that Muhammad is the Messenger of God.” The word “the two testimonies” is not accepted from whoever brings them unless he fulfills the following conditions: - Knowledge of its meaning, both negation and affirmation. - Certainty of the heart in it. Submitting to it outwardly and inwardly. - Accepting it, and not rejecting any of its necessities and requirements. - Sincerity in it. - Honesty from the bottom of the heart, not just with the tongue. - Love.
