Notes
The priest's Mass robe is a pasticcio wrap composition made up of older Italian appliquéd velvet and a transverse Mass robe of Ottoman silk, the latter silk having oval openings filled with tulips, carnations and flowered scrolls, a typical decoration of Ottoman silk weaving of the time. This composition of fabrics for the priest's Mass robe shows that there were no reservations about using fabric from Islamic regions for Christian church clothing in terms of its beautiful appearance.
