Notes
This binding was separated from an unknown manuscript that was discovered. The front cover depicts Fatih Ali Shah Qajar (the second ruler of the Qajar state (reigned 1798-1834), who was known to be an avid and skilled falcon breeder and an avid horseman. The picture here shows him holding a falcon while looking out at the viewer. The black cover depicts a conversation between a young man, perhaps a young wandering prince (Qalandar), an image associated with Sufism, a mystical movement in Islam. The absence of the original manuscript makes it difficult to confirm the intended meaning of the images on this page. The covers or the link between them.
