European collectors admired luxurious pieces such as this exceptional court because of the precious materials and the outstanding artistry of the Ottoman artists. The ruler is made of rock crystal and its handle is covered with gold sheets with emeralds and rubies. It documents the Ottomans' love for precious materials and their skill in manufacturing precious stones to form luxurious pieces of art suitable for princes and their courts.
