Notes
This page, along with two others in the Aga Khan Museum's collection (AKM89 and AKM40), come from a manuscript collected at the court of Shahrukh (died 1447) and dispersed by art dealer Emily Tabbakh in the 1920s and 1930s. The content of the manuscript is essentially a history of the world prepared by Rashid al-Din (died 1318). It is not simply a copy of Rashid al-Din's work, but a manuscript. A hybrid with a tangled history that became more complex. This page shows one of the mysterious matters of the manuscript. Here it is similar to the other scattered pages, and the drawing shows a block with missing text.
