Boxes with lids or pixies were used to hold writing utensils and other valuables. The archaeological inscriptions surrounding this yellow copper box are dedicated to an officer of the Mamluk Sultan, and although the name of the person is not mentioned, they say that his sovereignty is the teacher, the great fighter, the mujahid, the holder of a high position, the just and the defender.
