Notes With its delicate spiral body design, this small bowl belongs to a group of ceramics that were formerly called Golden Horn vessels, but current scholars prefer the term Tograx or Togra style for such decoration, comparing its design with the spiral vines that decorated the tughra of the Caliphate. During this period, the shapes of the pottery often imitated the shapes of metalwork, but this piece imitates the glass mosque lamps that often show Arabic inscriptions.
