Notes This deep bowl depicts a magnificent central arrangement developed with four medallions with heads, a floral and leafy pattern, and images (Chintamani). In combination with the limited yet beautiful color combination of dark blue, the translucent shades of olive green and vermilion paint the glaze in a smooth, flowing manner. The decoration can be considered to represent what is known as the Damascus style in Iznik production, known in the first half and mid-seventeenth century.
