Notes An open piece, its body is circular in shape on a flat floor. The rim has a prominent hemispherical section that tilts slightly inward. Ceramic made of a very light paste, close to mystical white, with honey decorations that tend toward an inky color. The surfaces bear color gradations of the same color as the paste. The decorations are concentrated in the center of the piece by means of a star or flower shape emanating from a wide circle, the inside of which is decorated with a geometric beam. The edges of this circle form details consisting of small semi-circles whose center is filled with a dot, and they overlap with a series of three rays pointing outward and repeated seventeen times. On the edge of the cup appears a striped decoration of the same color, taking the form of seven groups of small lines that are distinguished by their grace. This type of decoration is common on pieces of the same type, and is also found on the outer edges of bowls. Decorations of the same type have been observed on ceramics from Vilamoura (Lulé, Algarve = western Andalusia) and on ceramics excavated from Silves Castle. In the archaeological work carried out in Silves, this type of decoration has not been observed on objects from later archaeological levels of the AH 4th century / AD 10th century. This piece could be an authentic production from the same country.
