Notes
The ceiling is composed of overlapping panels, on each of which geometric shapes are drawn, namely squares and rhombuses, ending in the middle with an eight-pointed star. In the middle of this star was engraved an oriental decoration (arabesque) consisting of drawings of plants, animals, deer, rabbits, and birds of prey that opened their wings to pounce on their prey. It was surrounded by a frame decorated with simplified geometric shapes that closely resemble the panels made of lime and plaster that cover the walls of the Church of St. Giuliano, built in the Middle Ages, separating the church from the portico. This ceiling was in the home of one of the rich people or in the aforementioned royal palace, and this is evidenced by the executed pictures of people and the geometric drawings of an oriental character (arabesque) that lasted for a long time and did not undergo development, and what was mentioned by the researcher (Shirato 1979) who studied the Fatimid era.
