Notes
This hollow gold charm may be the frame of a ring, based on its flat, open back. The inscriptions on it are difficult to read, except for the clear repetition of the names Ali and Muhammad. In general, rings of this type bear the name of their owner or religious words of blessing. The shape of this ornament and its decorative design are characterized by the Safavid style.
