Notes A piece of a fountain carved in relief, triangular in shape, two parts of which have been reshaped: two straight sides and the third curved. The scene, of which only one part has survived, depicts a falcon hunt. We distinguish in the scene the knight's chest and part of his thigh; He appears to be wearing a pleated robe tied at the waist with a wide belt, and is holding a white weapon in his right hand. Behind him appears a beggar, his face disfigured and his lower limbs amputated. He is wearing a robe open in front and tied to the waist with a less wide belt. He is holding a dead hare in his right hand, and raising in his left hand a falcon with only a leg and part of a tail visible, above the horse’s shin, which is missing the lower part. Also visible is part of the trunk of a tree, which may be a palm tree, behind the bazaar. On the left side of this scene appears a two-line inscription in Kufic letters. The first line is difficult to read, but the second line reads as follows: “…four hundred and…the work of the son of…”. “Yen” can only be interpreted as the last syllable of a decimal number, which may be forty, or it may be seventy or ninety.
