Notes
The Fatimid era was characterized by the production of types of crafts characterized by a precise craftsmanship style with dense decoration, and we notice this through the wooden, metal, or golden artifacts dating back to that era. This piece is an artistic model representing a pair of earrings made of golden fabric hollowed out from the inside. Each earring is in the shape of a bird carrying a small gold ball in its beak, and is equipped with a loop for hanging that connects the bird's head to the back of its body. This piece is made of gold wire welded together and dotted with some grains. This method makes the jewelry light and heartfelt, while its form remains aesthetically and practically complete. This method was used to make spherical and conical beads that were strung together to form necklaces and other types of jewelry.
