Notes
Cylindrical incense burners on three legs with a domed lid were common from Iraq to Egypt in the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries but were also known in Iran under the rule of the Ilkhanids. The swastika-like shapes, the clothes of people drinking and playing music, and birds indicate that the piece was made in Mongol Iran.
