Notes	Ms. codex., Title from introduction (f. 1v)., Layout: Written in 33-34 long lines; border-ruled., Script: Written in naskh, some headings in thuluth., Decoration: Fully illuminated title page in polychrome and gold with floral motifs and title in central medallion (shamsa) (f. 1r); chapter headings in gold ink with illuminated panels and floral ornaments (f. 2r, for example); illuminated floral finispiece (f. 480r); significant words in red, blue, or gold ink; textblock borer-ruled in gold., Binding: Bound in reddish leather over pasteboard with flap (Type II), gilt-stamped center medallion with two pendants on the vertical axis and cornerpieces; leather doublure with central quatrefoil medallion and two pendants on the vertical axis and cornerpieces all in blue and green with black filigree overlay and gold tooling. The filigree is damaged or missing on most of the ornaments., Origin: The item is undated and the scribe is not named; possibly produced in Iran in the last 14th or early 15th centuries., Notes and stamps of ownership on last flyleaf recto. \| Lawrence J.
