Notes They are all loose individual sheets. Some are broken and only exist in fragments. The watermark in Tre lune form can be found in all parts of the manuscript. Heavily browned and very brittle paper alternates with lighter, more stable paper that contains the watermark in a different form. The darker paper also has a watermark in italics "Andrea Galvani Pordenoni" (?). The exact order of the sheets, some of which contain complaints, still needs to be restored. There are no traces of thread stitching. The book block is stabilized at the front and back by two strong cardboard boxes. The reddish leather cover is decorated with an African geometric pattern of straight lines, which is repeated in a refined manner on the inner lid of the leather bag. On the inside the cover is covered with three narrow light cotton strips sewn together. These also cover the inside of the bag. The tongue of the cover is connected to a narrow leather strap with a cowrie shell attached to the end. The band can be wrapped almost three times around the band and holds it together before putting it in your pocket. Its outer lid was connected to a now torn loop on the lower front of the bag. The bag itself rests on a round, flat craft plate with a braided leather edge, which is connected to it via two braided leather loops. If the bag is carried on the leather strap, which has been shortened, the craft plate lies between the bag and the wearer. The plate shows strong signs of wear on the carrier side. No indication of the dating of the ms. apart from the watermarks (Tre lune and italic lettering "Andrea Galvani Pordenoni", 1797-1855; reading uncertain). The Koran text is written in traditional orthography with red vocalization marks and reading aids in African-Maghreb style. Because no European materials are visible other than the paper, it can be assumed that the manuscript was made around the middle of the 19th century. was created. -- Signature: 8 COD MS ARAB 651 Access: Pruchniewicz, Paul Gerd *1938-1975* | Date: 2019-09-16
